Anna Daan (donating food) and it’s importance

Of all the donations mentioned in the holy scriptures, Anna Daan (donating food) has a special mention because all other donations including giving knowledge, wealth etc have very strict conditions. Funding someone’s education or supporting someone financially is permitted as per the scriptures, only if the person receiving the donation is worthy of the same. However in the case of donating food, no such rules apply. The only condition here is that the person receiving the food should be hungry. And in the cosmos every living creature feels hungry and has the right to accept the food donation. Here Anna Daan is done only for the Sadhus and this donation is considered as the most auspicious of all donations.

Founder, Swami. Ramesh ji talks about serving Sadhus and the journey so far.....

Swami Ramesh ji, a resident of Rishikesh, who has dedicated his entire life for the welfare and the suport of the Sadhus speaks here about the journey so far. He has been instrumental in carry out this momentous work entirely on his own shoulders for the last 18 consecutive years. He however denies taking any credit for the same as he believes that the Holy Ganga ji (Ganges Riverconsidered as cosmic mother of mankind) is the one who carries out her divine work through mortals like him. He has grown up by the banks of the Holy Ganga river, runs the Anand Dham Ashram in Rishikesh and is an expert in the ancient scriptures and leads an ascetic life.

As Winter sets in Gangotri, Sadhus performing intense sadhana in extreme climatic conditions are provided with winter clothing, food materials & basic ammenities for surviving in the severe cold of the himalayan mountains

This pious work for the Sadhus can only continue if all of us join hands and work towards this common goal. We accept donations in kind as well such as food grains, utility items etc. Any donation amount beginning from Rs. 1 will be helpful as you will get connected to this cause and we need more support from people like you to carry out these initiatives.

We also invite you to volunteer your time for this cause and make some trips with us where you can serve the Sadhus in the pristine and sacred Himalayan mountains.
